What Should I Expect When I First Come For Treatment At FCFR?

Every treatment facility offers different programs and holds different standards so whether this is your first time in treatment and are curious to know what to expect or you have been to treatment before and you are curious as to what to expect when coming to FCFR, this is a brief idea of how we do things. please contact us for more information and any additional questions.

Family Center for Recovery enrolls patients that most treatment centers in the United States can’t. Why? Because our facility is the only facility in Florida that is owned and operated by an addiction psychiatrist, allowing us to help those with addiction, as well as mental health struggles.

Here at Family Center For Recovery, we utilize Evidence-based practices to help get our patients healthy. Evidence based practice (EBP) is ‘the integration of best research evidence with clinical expertise and patient values’ which when applied by practitioners will ultimately lead to improved patient outcome.

Adult and Adolescent Program Features

Individualized Treatment Plans Determine Appropriate Groups
- Grief/Loss, Trauma, 12 Step Facilitation, Medication Education, Psychiatric Disorders Education, CBT/DBT, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Contingency Management, Motivation Enhancement, Social Cognition, Self Esteem, Life Skills, Art Therapy, Family Systems, Health and Wellness, Codependency, Men’s and Women’s Groups etc.
Cognitive Testing and Enhancement Exercises
- Determines patient’s capabilities cognitively and is used to assess their abilities in the workplace and/or if they need extra assistance to become independent
Family Involvement
- Family weekends, weekly conference calls and support group via electronic app that connects all families and staff on a 24/7 basis

Adult Program Specialties:

Vocational Rehabilitation
- Resume building, interview preparation, clothing donations, and job search assistance
- We work with employers who assist with job placement in more acute cases
Transitional Housing
- Supervised independent living where patients learn life skills like cooking, cleaning, organization, a sense of community and other responsibilities
- This is a vulnerable stage in recovery when patients struggle most and therefore a supervised community allows the treatment team to ensure patients stay on track
Independent Living
- Life skills, budgeting, goal-setting, reintegration into the community

Psychiatrist Involvement:

Dr. Robert A. Moran is the Owner, CEO, and Medical Director. Being all of these, the decisions are made in the patient’s best interest, not for financial gain. He meets with the patients on a daily basis to ensure proper diagnoses are determined and works with our Masters level clinicians to develop individualized treatment plans.

Letter from the State Attorney:

The State of Florida has recognized Dr. Moran’s model of treatment and has been consulting with him to form new legislature in efforts to ensure proper medical care is provided to our community. The State sent a letter thanking him for his service and continued dedication to changing the industry for the betterment of our society.
